My Blog
Just another WordPress siteI love Greyhound…. psych!
Posted on May 22, 2010Now I remember why I wanted to get back to blogging. So that I can vent about Greyhound. I take them all the time when I travel between DC and NYC. It’s cheap, semi-comfortable, and gets me where I need to be in one piece. On the flipside, they typically run late, overbook themselves, and have one of the worst customer services I have ever seen.
On tonight’s adventure, our bus driver seems to have left a Hispanic lady at the rest area we left about 20 mins ago. A man came running to the front clamoring that this lady that was back there isn’t there anymore.
The bus driver responds, “why didn’t you tell me when I asked is everyone back?”
The man responds, “I was sleeping and just realized it now she wasn’t there.”
Bus driver, “do you know her?”
Man, “no.”
Bus driver, “the rest area will call greyhound and another bus will pick her up.”
Now, I’ll let you decide. Should the bus driver keep a count of the number of passengers and do a head count before he left or is it the lady’s fault for not coming back on time.
Either way, the moral of the story is to not get off the bus because they will leave you.
Trip Packing….
Posted on May 22, 2010I loathe packing for trips. No matter how much I prep by writing down everything I need and laying my stuff out to make sure I’ve got it all. I always seem to manage to forget something. This time around I forgot my ENTIRE toiletry bag with my toothbrush, deoderant, yep, even my glasses were inside. Don’t ask how I did this I don’t even know.
I just know that I was sitting on the bus, and as the bus was pulling out, realized my gaffe and just kicked myself for forgetting it. How come it’s always like that. You only seem to remember after the fact and not as I’m walking out the door or putting things away.
Nope.
I remember as I’m about to embark on a ten day trip, spanning New York to Montreal to Boston to the Cape. Luckily I’m resourceful and have awesome friends. One of my buddies from NYC is actually in DC for the weekend and is going to bring it up on Sunday.
Awesome, what a start to the trip.
